A Welcome Message from Our President
The A & S Federal Credit Union was established in March of 1940 by a handful of individuals who foresaw the need for a financial institution to serve people of ordinary means. The credit union, formerly know as the A & S RR Employees Federal Credit Union, was formed with money deposited by people who worked on the Aliquippa & Southern Railroad. This credit union has never received any money from any other source other than members’ deposits. By pooling their money, employees of the railroad were able to establish a financial institution that paid a good return on their savings while offering low rates on loans for employees who needed to borrow. The true story is in the individual members who, over the years have demonstrated their faith in this credit union by remaining loyal and enabling us to carry out the credit union philosophy which is people helping people.
